Michael O’Tool's Paintings
Michael O'Toole is a modern Canadian artist who was born in Vancouver on Canada's West Coast in one of the major provinces, British Columbia, in 1963. Since boyhood, he has been surrounded by a creative environment: the artist's mother, Nancy O'Toole, was a well-known artist, and his entire upbringing has been connected with canvases, paints, and palette knives. While seeing my mother's art, I learned techniques and processes while developing my own.
Michael's passion for design has inspired him to experiment with many mediums such as watercolor, pen & ink, graphite, gouache, and acrylic. They are now concentrating on acrylic paints. Michael O'Toole's creative arsenal is diverse, including landscapes, portraits, and architectural painting. Michael considers his paintings to be a blend of passion and technical proficiency. Painting became become a "all-consuming passion."
His style is contemporary impressionism. Michael O'Toole's works have been published by well-known periodicals and have found popularity in Graphics galleries all over the world. Michael's paintings may be found in several corporate and individual collections in Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, and he is a regular exhibitor in British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec. Michael O'Toole's paintings clearly show the precision of architectural graphics. This is hardly unexpected given that an artist's initial focus is architectural design. Michael worked for numerous architectural businesses in Toronto before moving to the West Coast to focus solely on painting.
Michael O'Toole began drawing graphics in a technique known as rendering after arriving to Toronto in 1985 in pursuit of employment that combined architecture and painting. Michael won the award for "Best Home Design" in 1991. After returning to Vancouver in 1992, Michael O'Toole dedicated one of his working days to painting. This day becomes a watershed moment in his life. He actively begins to paint in a variety of styles, beginning with acrylic, oil, pen and ink, and progressing to airbrushing and gouache.
Michael O'Toole has explored numerous graphic approaches, but his preference is acrylic painting. He can employ color boldly and readily in his work. The purity of tones, as well as the vivid and big contrasts, make a significant effect on spectators. His works demonstrate how painting is powerful specifically in color, which has such a great impact on perception. After all, the influence of color determines the acceptance and rejection of a specific picture to a greater extent in the early moments of its consideration. Only then do the composition and substance, which are an addition, accentuating the details and strengthening the impression, enter the picture. The spectator decides if something is "mine" or "not mine" in the first moment. This material works well with his bright and dramatic approach. The paintings astound with their intricate use of light, texture, and color. According to Michael, his paintings are a blend of emotions and technical competence.
