A dance of passion and fire in Allen Bentley's paintings
American painter Allen Bentley dedicates his work rhythm and intensity towards dancing. In the hamlet of Montgomery Village, Maryland, he lives and works. Allen's paintings appear alive, actually inspired by Latin dancing passion, sensation and energies. This artist, like everyone else, transmits the feelings and moods of tango and demonstrates to the audience that the meaning of good art is that the viewer must feel with his soul all the colours of the image.
Until 1996, Allen Bentley studied in West Carolina University. Having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, he opted to continue his studies. He studied well and obtained a degree in fine arts till 2000. Allen held his first solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Centre, Delaware, over 10 years later.
Since that time, the work of Bentley has been renowned worldwide and has been shown on several occasions in North American artistic galleries. In New York, Chicague, San Diego, Philadelphia and other major US cities, Mr Allen was asked several times to participate in exhibits. Some of his works may be viewed in the Museum of Modern Art in Philadelphia, Philadelphia International Airport.
Allen Bentley teaches painting at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, in addition to working in his own studio. In his leisure time, Allen is travelling across the country watching professional dancers and sometimes only individuals who come for wedding classes in a ballroom. These insights assist the artist to comprehend and communicate the dance's sensations and energy to the audience.
“My work is devoted to the study of the closeness and connections between partners that arise in the movement. Energy and passion, rhythm and play lead the heroes of my paintings through the whirlwind of dance until they merge into one. We are chasing each other in search of similar intimacy, but it turns out that everything is simple, ”Allen Bentley said
