Artist Richard Blunt
Richard Blunt is a contemporary portrait painter , born
in England and studied 3D design at Worcester College of Art and Design. Mostly self-taught, Richard made his way into painting through minor art restorations, and then as a portrait painter. Inspired by artists such as Caravaggio, Vermeer, Millet, he experimented on a game of chiaroscuro and the style of photographic realism. His atmospheric and emotional paintings are a great success. Because they are written on an eternal and inexhaustible topic: the sacrament between a man and a woman.
Artist about himself- " I only really paint the things that I love and the things that inspire me. I also like to try and tell a story or create a bit of mystery. A book, film or song can do this but they have more time, the challenge is to capture a similar feeling in the snap shot of a single image and this is what I strive for. I am never truly happy with a piece unless I feel it holds enough mystery to stop and intrigue the viewer, if only for a moment.”
