Born In Khabarovsk, 1957 - a multifaceted artist from Russia, currently residing in Spain. His early works were devoted to graphics for music, comics, and advertising posters.
Vladimir Volegov basically creates his paintings in the genre of romantic realism. Another direction of the artist's work is the creation of three-dimensional dolls. Vladimir Volegov was born in Khabarovsk on December 19, 1957. When the future artist was 2 years old, his parents broke up, and with his mother he moved to Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg). Since then, they often had to move.
From early childhood, Vladimir Volegov had a great desire to draw. From the age of fourteen, he began to draw 3-meter posters for cinemas. He graduated from art school in the city of Krivoy Rog. After serving in the army, in 1980, Vladimir Volegov entered the Lviv Polygraphic Institute, the faculty of graphics.
A great influence on the artist’s work was made by the classics of the Russian art school: Repin I.E. and Serov V.A., and paintings by Andreas Zorn, whom he saw at the exhibition, which he visited in 1986. In 1988, Vladimir Volegov moved to live in Moscow, where he painted portraits on the Arbat. Soon he mastered digital drawing technologies and began to collaborate with publishers, advertising and record companies, and completed orders by creating portraits of artists such as: Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov, Vika Tsyganova, etc.
Since 1990, the artist began traveling around Europe, earning a living by painting portraits on the streets of Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, etc. Once the artist purchased a book by Giovanni Boldini, whose work inspired him to create paintings. After visiting the Orsay Museum (Paris, France), he got acquainted with the original works of the artist, after which he began to devote even more time to painting.
Later, Vladimir Volegov discovered the names of John Singer Sargent and Joaquin Sorolla and began to create his works in the genre of romantic realism. In 2006, the artist and his wife moved to Spain, and soon a son was born to him. In 2007, the artist began to successfully collaborate with Galeries Bartoux in France and Italy, as well as with European galleries in Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain
In 2011, Vladimir Volegov began working on a 3D project, which resulted in the creation of three-dimensional dolls. In the same year he opened his website and took part in the exhibitions Doll Expo 2012 (Paris), Art Expo New York 2012 (New York), Doll Show 2012 (Barcelona).
By order of Tot en Rus magazine, the artist created the Baronessa Thyssen doll, which was presented to the Baroness at a press conference on the opening of the Thyssen Museum in Sant Feliu de Guixols. Currently, Vladimir Volegov works in two directions - painting and dolls.
