Artist Aleksander Starodubov
Was born in 1959 in Moscow to a military diplomat family so his
military career has been predetermined since his childhood. And so it happened.
Graduation from Moscow Aviation University (1977), followed by service as an
officer in the Armed Forces, then the Academy of Missile Forces, a career
promotion.
And when it
seemed that there would be only success in his future career, Alexander changed
his destiny abruptly. He retired from the Army (1990) and chose the formidable
path of Moscow Monmartre artist - in Old Arbat, from which later many
well-known talented artists came.The
artist's favourite genre is an urban landscape, the disappearing views of old
Moscow, sometimes with the fantasy elements and Bulgakov motives. His works are
in private collections in Russia and abroad. Series of works was acquired by
Bulgakov Museum in Toronto.
