The boy began to get involved in painting at the age of 13. With a little practice, the young artist began selling his paintings to strolling tourists in the streets of Cairo, where they were sold like hot cakes.

The boy's family was not rich, so this income made a tangible contribution to the family budget.

It should be noted that Maher Morcos did not paint portraits of tourists in a hurry, as it is still popular in tourist places, but sold his own works, which depicted fragments of the life of the Egyptians.

At the age of 14, Maher Morcos decided to participate in a national competition organized by the country's government. Unexpectedly for himself, he became a winner!

After the victory, the government commissioned him to illustrate teaching aids for the country's schools. Maher successfully coped with this task and became known to almost every inhabitant of Egypt.

At the age of 15, the artist organized his own exhibition, which took place in Cairo. From that moment, the boy realized that painting is his destiny, and no matter how thorny this path is, he will only be an artist.

However, the boy's parents did not think so and insisted that the son go to a doctor or lawyer.

In general, I got what is called an "earthly" profession.

Despite the fact that Maher Morcos supported himself, he could not afford to study at the university, so he had to find a compromise with his parents. As a result of long disputes, the guy entered the Faculty of Architecture.

His studies were to some extent connected with the visual arts, and Maher Morcos never stopped improving in painting. In parallel with his studies, he created new masterpieces.

Of course, after the master received his diploma in architecture, he did not work for a day in his specialty.

Maher Morcos is very sensitive to the edge. It may seem to some that there are too many undressed bodies and little soul in his works. But most art lovers don't think so. Maher Morcos
