Artist Robert Duncan is an American Contemporary Painter, he was born in 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to a big family. Every summer, he volunteered on his grandparents' ranch in Wyoming, surrounded by stunning wide scenery, and he fell in love with rural life at a young age. He began painting at the age of five, and his grandmother gave him his first set of paints when he was eleven. She paid him for three oil painting classes, and young Robert chose to devote his life to fine art American Zapada. Pozdnee Robert Duncan studied painting at the University of Utah and worked as an advertising artist before travelling abroad and studying great painters he admires. He mostly went around Europe. However, he also travelled to Canada, Russia, and Scandinavia. When he returned to his own country, Robert Duncan frequently visited the East Coast. In 1981, the young artist received two silver medals at his yearly show at the Phoenix Museum of Art and was inducted into the Cowboy Artists of America, one of the most prestigious organizations.

Five years later (in 1987),  Robert Duncan quit society, intending to devote himself entirely to Western American painting, capturing his own family, friends, rural life, and the breathtakingly gorgeous open landscapes surrounding Midway and Heber Valley in Utah. Today Robert Duncan considers his art to be a restoration to traditional ideals. He frequently paints from life on the street.

- I am interested in what we are all alike, as well as the versatility of our feelings. I try to portray what we often overlook, what has a profound impact on our soul and well-being. We all need a little nature in our lives ... With my art comes the hope that we can all try to save what really matters and leave our children a world where they can still enjoy simple pleasures.
