Pavel Mitkov - Bulgarian artist. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1977.
He began to study painting in 1994, while still at school.
Later, he received a diploma in landscape design (from 1991 to 1996, Pavel Mitkov studied at the College of Mechanical Engineering, formerly named after Stalin). However, almost immediately after graduation, he switched from design to painting.
Mitkov quickly made progress in the world of art.
In just a few years, he became one of the best-selling artists in Bulgaria.
In 2007, the Deutsche Welle studio made a documentary about Paul, where he presented him as one of the most successful artists in Europe.
He received international recognition in 2004, when the Board of Trustees of the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky instructed Mitkov to paint a picture, which was then presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was on a visit to Bulgaria. This event marked the beginning of a series of prestigious exhibitions.
Mitkov’s paintings were also donated to Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Patriarch of All Russia Kirill, King of Belgium Albert II and other dignitaries from around the world. At numerous international exhibitions in Europe, the USA and Russia, the works of Mitkov became the standard of success.
