Thomas W. Schaller's Watercolor Paintings


Thomas W. Schaller is a contemporary american watercolor artist After a 20-year career as an architect in New York, architect and artist Thomas Wells Schaller now lives in California, where he spends his whole time to watercolour artwork. Thomas Schaller has long been regarded as one of the world's greatest architectural artists. He has earned several major honours and accolades for his artistic work, including the Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize twice (Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize). He is the author of two best-selling publications, "Architecture in Watercolor" and "The Art of Architectural Drawing." His accolades include the AIA Award for Architecture in Watercolor and the Art of Architectural Drawing. He gives several watercolour classes and seminars. Thomas Schaller's work has been widely shown, notably at the Art Institute of Chicago, The Graham Foundation, The American Society of Illustrators in New YorkYork City), and the Aedes-East Gallery in Berlin.











Thomas Schaller's paintings are in the most recent yearly edition of Splash 13, which features the greatest watercolours of the year. In 2010, he authored a huge feature story for American Artist magazine, and his work has appeared in American Art Collector magazine multiple times. His watercolour piece was chosen for the cover of the December issue of the art magazine Watercolor Artist. His work is represented in Los Angeles by the Link Gallery, Universal Art Gallery, and Carter-Sexton Gallery, where he had a solo show of his watercolour work in 2011.








Thomas Schaller's work has recently been chosen for display in a number of prestigious exhibitions, including The Zhujiajiao International Watercolor Biennial in Shanghai, The International Watercolor Biennial Mexico in Mexico City), The 143rd Annual Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society in New York City, The II Bienal Iberoamericana de la Acuarela in Madrid, and Salon Salon de L'Aquarelle du Haillan in France. Tom Schaller won the Grand Jury Prize in the National Paint the Parks Competition in 2010. The show is now on tour in the United States. Mr. Schaller is a member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the Northwest Watercolor Society, the San Diego Watercolor Society, the California Watercolor Association, the California Art Club, the American Architectural Society, the New York Renderers Society, and the North American Watercolor Artists.
