René Snyman's Paintings
A young professional contemporary artist,
René Snyman resides and works in Sir Lowry's Pass, Western Cape, South Africa.
Her sensitive observation skills were molded by her close engagement with
nature as a child growing up on a farm in the Kalahari near Upington. Ever
since René Snyman was a little girl and realized she had an aptitude for
sketching, René has committed herself to honing her craft. René Snyman's
paintings examine how light interacts with diverse surfaces, such as skin,
water, and dirt, as well as how different color temperatures interact. The
artist finds inspiration in everyday life, childhood memories, and the natural
world. Among René Snyman's particular interests are the following:
landscapes—that is, if she can keep it intimate and private. Portraits are
useful for expressing the nuanced feelings and messages that individuals
express through their hands, eyes, and movements. She has grown to appreciate
and comprehend farm animals since she was a little child. She paints what she
feels on her mind!
