Charles Dwyer
Charles J. Dwyer Jr. was born in Winsconsin in 1961, and in 1984 graduated from Milwaukee School of Art and Design, where he studied art, painting, prints, photography and architecture. It was there that his corporate style of painting was formed, inspired by the impressionism of the 1840-1890s and the expressionism of the 1930-1950s.
After graduating from the art school, Charles Dwyer exhibited in several museums, such as the West Bend Art Museum (1985), Kohier Arts Center Wisconsin (1984-1985). In 1985, he was awarded the first print prize from the Wisconsin Museum of Art. But the real fame comes to Dvaer in 1992. The first exhibition of his works in New York was completely sold out. After this, the career of Dwyer began to actively develop. In 1993, he designed the official poster for the Chicago exhibition ARTEXPO'93. Currently, Charles Dwyer works are exhibited in many galleries throughout America. Some of his works were bought by theaters (Geary Theater - San Francisco, Orpheum Theater - Phoenix), universities (University of Notre Dame - Notre Dame), basilicas and churches (St. Josaphat's Basilica - Milwaukee, St. Patrick's Church - New Orleans).
In addition to exhibitions, Dwyer also participates in commercial projects. So in 1994, the artist managed to collaborate with Playboy magazine, and in 2004 - to participate in Two Man Show. However, Dwyer did not stop there. For some time he was engaged in decor. So Charles Dwyer created the interior of the Gary Theater in San Francisco, decorative wooden ceiling panels in the Presbyterian Church in Chicago, a mosaic in the Minnesota Capitol.
The work of Charles Dwyer is a complex combination of the image of a person and his mind. The artist finds his inspiration in photographs of people. And his talent reveals the soul of man. His exquisite and vibrant works serve as a source of inspiration for many creative people around the world.
