Born on August 1, 1856 in Peru.He studied painting with Leonardo Barbieri, and in 1875 received a scholarship from the Peruvian government and went to Europe.For ten years, Hernandez studied classical art in Italy, then moved to Paris. At the international exhibition in 1900 he was awarded a gold medal, and in 1901 - Legion d'Honneur.

The first painting teacher of Daniel was Leonardo Barbieri.In 1875, Daniel Hernandez Morillo received a scholarship from the Peruvian government and went to Europe in order to continue his studies. The artist studied for almost ten years in Italy, then moved to Paris, where he was very warmly received by the French public, regularly participated in exhibitions, very soon became a successful artist, whose paintings sold well.In 1900, Daniel Hernandez Morillo exhibited his works at the International Exhibition and was awarded a gold medal.In 1918, the artist, at the invitation of the Peruvian government, returned to his homeland and until his death, in 1932, served as director of the National School of Arts in Lima.
