Artist Bo Barlett

Bo Barlett (born 1955) is a contemporary American figurative artist, heir to American realism in the mid-20th century, a follower and, in some sense, a student of the famous Andrew Wyatt.

Barlett, who had also been involved in cinema before, made a film about Wyatt based on the recollections of the artist’s wife, with whom Barlett was well acquainted personally.

Gravitation towards Wyatt's style also influenced the choice of the young artist's place of residence. In addition to his native Columbus, Georgia, Barlett lives in Wyatt's inspirational places in Maine, Wheaton Island.

Bo Barlett is considered a realist. However, rather, his work corresponds to the concepts of neo-baroque - a completely unrealistic redundancy of the content of many paintings, a special relationship with light (when the light in his paintings comes not only from natural sources, but seemingly seeps out from another, higher space), many of his heroes - not just people, nature, but some symbols, and in some places he even depicts a glow around people's heads, like a halo.

Be that as it may, the work of Bo Barlett deserves every attention. He is a bright and important artist for the culture of modern America. By the way, in the USA he is very famous and popular. Ours is not very good. So have a nice meeting.
