and are in the Vologda Regional Art Gallery, the Vologda State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve, in private collections in Russia and abroad.

The artist works in the technique of oil painting in the genres of subject-thematic, historical painting, landscape, still life, everyday painting; is engaged in graphics in the technique of drawing with ink and watercolors in the genres of landscape, subject-thematic composition; works in the field of graphic design and book graphics.

The creativity of Alexander Savin opens before us a rather complex, lyrical and spiritualized world of the artist. Each pictorial picture, drawing, created by his hand, has its own figurative interpretation.

He is better known as a master of landscape, lyrical or compositional, who is able to contain in a poetic embodiment everything from Heaven to Earth.

An individual feature of his landscapes is luminosity, transparency and, one might say, "lunarity", which convey to us a very specific action, sometimes very unexpected - behind the linearity of a still life of flowers and field herbs, an obvious meaning is almost always guessed. Rather, it is landscape-philosophical lyrics, where the measure of the conditional and real beginning in the creation of one's worldview as an artistic image is intuitively verified.

The author's ability to comprehend the most subtle structures of the world of the beauty of nature, the ability to hear and convey the symphonic sound of the invisible breath of heaven and earth is amazing.

Another feature of the last years of the artist's work is the creation of genre paintings, even entire cycle-triptychs on serious worldview themes. Mostly they reflect not the brightest aspects of our life. The accumulated bowl of contradictions tearing our society apart at the end of the 20th century does not leave anyone indifferent, including the author. To comprehend these problems, the artist found for himself a poetic form of a parable.
