Artist Alexi Zeitsev
Born in 1959 in Ryazan. At the age of 12 he moved to Moscow. The artist made
his first steps in his work thanks to the support of his aunt, an honored
artist of the USSR. Alexey Zaitsev graduated from the art faculty named.
Ulyanova at the Union of Journalists of the USSR with a degree in Book
Graphics (1983). Since the 80s he began to exhibit at home and abroad. His
works have been shown at exhibition venues in Hungary, Germany, Georgia,
Indonesia, Switzerland and other countries. In the 2000s, paintings by
Alexei Zaitsev were repeatedly exhibited at the Moscow Central House of
Artists. Since 2005, the artist has been successfully collaborating with a
private gallery in Florida.
Alexey Zaitsev works in an impressionistic manner, preferring a palette
knife as a tool. This technique led to the appearance of a large brushstroke
characteristic of the artist's work. Among the main subjects of Alexei
Zaitsev's work are Moscow and the Moscow region, the sea, women, children and animals. Alexey Zaitsev's paintings are in private collections in Russia and abroad. They are kept in the official collection of Boris Yeltsin, the
collection of the former American ambassador Robert Strauss, the Russian
embassies in Ireland and Hungary, the collections of large companies such as
Bayer AG and Rand Xerox. Alexey Zaitsev's works have also been acquired by
the Illinois Institute for Russian Economics and Culture (USA), a private gallery in Madrid, and an art centre in Ireland.
