Artist Christian Vey

Christian Vey is a French artist. Was born on November 8, 1960, in Saint-Etienne. As a self-taught artist, he discovered his passion for painting in 1986. At the age of 26, on a rainy day in Brittany, he visited an art gallery, where, after seeing the painting, he experienced a strong emotional response and immediately decided to immerse himself in the world of creativity.
Reconnecting with the world of emotions, when an artist creates his work of art, he feels the movement, speed, instantaneousness and spontaneity that are so dear to him as a former athlete, he feels satisfaction. Meeting a couple of Americans introduced him to the world of galleries (in Arizona and then New Orleans). The artist draws his inspiration from artists, often contemporary, Georges Laporte or Corno, Quebec, as varied as his passions.
Passionate about jazz, he uses his own rhythm and his own leitmotifs to convey them in his paintings. "Color began to replace musical notes, and, as in jazz, improvisation formed the basis of my work," says the artist. Christian Way considers color, a symbol of energy, to be the fuel for his work. Christian uses oil paint to paint his figurative paintings, their characteristic feature is speed and movement.
Against the background of the music, his characters move, just like the artist himself, who travels between Vienna, New York and New Orleans. He uses a palette knife to apply oil paint, which helps him embody the fleetingness and dynamism of movement. The themes of Christian Vey's paintings are urban jungle, musicians playing on stage, women with developing hair, energy of life, beauty, creativity, etc.
