Jose Luis Munoz Luque
Born in Córdoba (Spain) in 1969. Graduated in Fine Arts from the University
of Seville in 1993.
Jose's biggest influences are Renaissance symbolism and painting, he enjoy
merging them with comics and movies that make him enjoy so much. In the
compositions he seek an update of universal symbols of classical mythology
or literature, from his contemporary vision.
As for the form, He like to take great care in the elaboration of the work,
giving the greatest importance to the composition. Technically, He start
from a detailed drawing to which He gradually add color based on glazes,
first with tempera and acrylic and later with oil with alkyd resin. Although
He like the detail, He do not seek photographic realism, jose prefer the
painting to look like painting, and He often place His characters on flat
backgrounds with symbolic elements drawn and written or with gold
leaf.
