 Artist William Whitaker

Artist William Whitaker  was born in America as early as 1943.
Today he is one of the brightest representatives of contemporary American art, who created works in a realistic direction.
From childhood, William was constantly in the art world, since his parents were artists. His talent for artistic creation had already manifested itself by the age of six, which made his father very happy. His father did everything to develop William's talent, teaching him the techniques of painting with watercolors and oils. In childhood and adolescence, the artist was surrounded by works of art associated with abstract expressionism. The warmest memories of childhood are for William the smells and sounds of his father's studio.
When the young man was seventeen years old, he entered the University of Utah, where he studied fine arts.
William studied painting with the famous American portrait painter Alvin Gittins.
Thanks to this, William was able to master academic drawing and painting at a high level. He had a penchant for accurate drawing.
After the artist studied many styles, he still chose the direction of traditional realism.
Creative exploration and experimentation with the use of various styles of painting ultimately led William Whitaker to choose the traditional realistic direction.
It was this that corresponded to his creative state of mind.
After graduating from the University of Utah, the artist was awarded a bachelor's degree. Then he continued his studies in the city of Los Angeles (Otis Institute of the Arts).
For many years Whitaker worked as a teacher. It was the university named after Brigham Young.
Then he took up studio practice.
The artist constantly improved his skills. His paintings adorn the collections of historical and art museums and museums of fine arts in America, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Whitaker believed that spiritual strength is the value of painting. The entire creative path of the artist went through realism.
There is calmness and serenity in his works, and women look as if they are in three-dimensional space.
The feeling is created that the characters are voluminous and tangible, and the created interior goes into the depth of the picture.
Whitaker was very impressed by the fact that in recent years, many talented young artists began to work in the classical style of painting.
The artist described his attitude to classical traditional realism, as something magical and beyond spiritual.
The master's paintings are unique. They gravitate a little towards the illusions of the ancient and biblical world.
Refined and sophisticated women, depicted in the artist's paintings, attract some viewers with their fragile shoulders and graceful neck lines, others with shining blue eyes, and still others with familiar detached gestures that share the history of someone's love relationship.
And although there are more cold colors in the paintings and there is an emotional restraint of images, his canvases can be called real portals to other worlds, capturing one moment of life.
All paintings are drawn from nature and are a bit consonant with the old-fashioned tradition.
American artist William Whitaker will forever remain a recognized virtuoso of the classical realistic direction of painting.
