Artist Harisadhan Dey is an Indian figurative contemporary painter from Calcutta. Born 1982 in West Bengal. Graduated from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata. He does not give preference to any topics, he paints landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and nudity. As a young boy from a seaside village in West Bengal, Harisadhan Dey was fascinated by the beauty of the countryside and the dramatic fate of the people living there.
Religious rituals, village shrines, vivid images of the famous Ganga Sagara Mel festival bewitched him. Therefore, it is not surprising that Harisadkhan was seriously carried away by the rhythms and realities associated with the life of rural India. The colors of traditional rituals and celebrations evoke a deep sense of spirituality in him. The chiaroscuro of nature, forms, postures and facial expressions of a person are the hallmarks of his work. In his works, Harisadkhan persistently seeks cultural and spiritual roots that connect him with his native land, in order to show them to those who see his paintings.
