Paintings Of Artist Ralph Heinen
Ralph Heinen is a contemporary Dutch realist painter , Ralph was in born 1978, in tiny Dutch village of Teglen, He travelled to Nijmegen, a city with a history reaching back to Roman times, after finishing his secondary school, where visual arts were taught in a very limited quantity. Ralph spent several years at the university studying cultural anthropology. He did not complete his studies due to bad eyesight, but according to the artist, he learnt a lot during his time there. It was at this period that he began to paint. Initially, these were simply duplicates of pictures snapped while on vacation. Ralph afterwards found the works of 17th century masters, which became his primary source of inspiration.
Ralph known in the network under the pseudonym Ranonus working in a mixed style between classical realism and impressionism. As he himself says: “Back in 2003, I stopped painting with acrylics and started experimenting with oils. This was an important step forward in my educational process. I was also inspired by a visit to the studio of the famous Dutch realist painter Ses Le Mair. Then, quite unexpectedly, I developed a love for oriental architecture. From that moment on, I independently learned to draw exquisite ornaments, architectural decorations and reproduce the deterioration of buildings on canvas. Sometimes with beautifully dressed women, but also without any figures of people against the background of buildings ... But nevertheless, the main "characters" of my paintings are people, their emotional state, which can be seen in facial expressions, in the smallest details of clothing and in what they do. "
