Ivan Efimovich Slavinsky ( Художник Иван Ефимович Славинский ) is a modern Russian artist who is a member of the Russian Union of Artists. Ivan Slavinsky's work has been assigned to realists, postmodernists, and surrealists at various times. Slavinsky developed his own style, his own creative mark, by combining these many methods of painting on canvas. Ivan Slavinsky was born in Leningrad on April 26, 1968. His father, Dmitry Oboznenko, is a military painter and RSFSR Honored Artist, while his mother, Galina Patrabolova, is an art critic.
Ivan Slavinsky began drawing at the age of five, and he received his professional training at the Academy of Arts' art school. In 1991, Ivan Slavinsky had his first show in St. Petersburg at the "Fellowship of Free Artists" gallery. The painter eventually rose to prominence in St. Petersburg. There were also invites to Moscow galleries. Ivan Slavinsky then moved to France in 1993, where he resided and worked for 10 years on contracts with European galleries. His own exhibits were held in Luxembourg, Dublin (Ireland), Stockholm (Sweden), Marseille, Paris (France), and other places during this time.
Ivan Slavinsky returned to Russia in 2002, and the IVAN SLAVINSKY art gallery in St. Petersburg opened in June 2007. After broadening its scope of operations, the gallery changed its name to SLAVINSKY ART and continued to represent the artist until 2011. In February 2016, the artist SLAVINSKY PROJECT established a new gallery in St. Petersburg. Since 1997 Lives and works in Moscow.
