Artist Miriam Briks's Paintings
Artist Miriam Briks is a contemporary Polish artist, was born in Wroclaw, Poland. She grew raised in New York, attended art school, and then attended the Art Students League of New York, where she mastered the fundamentals of classical painting, graphics, and design. She worked as an illustrator and art instructor in Los Angeles and Florence, Italy for the following six years. She also pursued her studies at the Siena Academy of Arts. Miriam was schooled in classical painting at first, but she eventually grew interested in impressionism. Her art has been shown in Paris, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
When she returned to the United States in 1986, she resided in the Sierra Nevada foothills. She modified her style here, influenced by the paintings of painters such as Sargent, Chase, Sorolla, and Zorn. In her works, she employs a rich pallet of colour and texture, her painting approach delicately mixing a strong grasp of drawing technique with classical impressionism. Brix aims to produce paintings that elicit emotions and create an ambiance that immerses the observer in the beauty and mood of the time. Miriam Brix's paintings have been shown in several exhibits, mostly in the United States. She belongs to the Portrait Society of America. Her art may be found in several public and private collections.
