Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Grace Kim emerged into the world amidst the embrace of a bustling, expansive family. Her academic journey led her to attain a bachelor's degree in architecture from Hong-Ik University in Seoul in the pivotal year of 1968.

 

The early 1970s marked a transformative chapter as Grace, accompanied by her husband, embarked on a journey of immigration to the United States. This relocation opened new avenues for her artistic exploration, leading her to pursue studies at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Schuler School of Fine Art in Baltimore, Maryland.

 

In her artistic endeavors, Grace skillfully employs a diverse palette, blending watercolors, oil paints, and pencils to create captivating works. Her artistic identity bears the imprint of Dutch masters from the 16th-17th centuries, shaping a style uniquely her own.

 

Venturing far beyond her birthplace, Grace has traversed the globe, leaving her artistic footprint in Japan, China, Italy, France, England, Russia, Eastern Europe, and New Zealand. Presently calling Washington, D.C. home, Grace resides alongside her husband and three children, contributing her talents to the creative realm at the esteemed National Gallery of Art.
