Jana Brike's Paintings
Jana Brike was born in 1980 in Riga, Latvia. She pursued academic painting and graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts in 2005 with a master's degree in figurative painting. It belongs to the divisive yet well-liked bebiart movement. Since 1996, when she was still an adolescent, her work has been shown in professional settings throughout the globe. She has also taken part in almost 100 group exhibits and projects worldwide in addition to 13 solo shows. Yana's paintings are a fantastical dream of an adult kid, where real life and fairy tales are blended into surreal imagery to create weird, entrancing, one-of-a-kind works of art that are full of mysteries, secrets, and distinctive personalities. It is a work of visual art that mostly uses the conventional technique of oil painting on canvas, with a strong narrative element and figure portrayal. She also dabbles with various artistic mediums, including digital art, sculpture, animation, mixed-media painting, and installation. Yana Braik aims to portray a person's inner world and soul state, including dreams, longing, love, suffering, and a variety of other emotions that shape the human condition. It is a lyrical visual autobiography in her art.
