Daniel Greene's Paintings 



Daniel Greene (born 1934) is a contemporary American artist, the most famous portraiture artist in America, whose works are housed in over 500 public and private collections in the US and abroad, and a former painting instructor at the National Academy of Design and the Art Students League of New York.


In 1934, he was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Daniel Greene attended the Cincinnati Academy of Art from 1944 to 1946 and the Art Students League of New York from 1953 to 1955. Daniel is now employed in the state of New York. His seminars are extremely popular and are offered at the artist's studio in North Salem, New York, every summer. Mr. Daniel Greene was elected to the National Academy of Design in 1969. In 2001, the Portrait Society of America awarded him a gold prize. He is married to Wenda Caporale, a portrait artist and illustrator.


Daniel Greene's books "Pastel" and "The Art of Pastel" have been translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Chinese. He has also created six instructive movies on portrait sketching using colored pastels and oil painting.
