Artist Jimmy Law (South African artist)

Was born in 1979 in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State. He has a diploma in graphic design from the Technicon, Orange Free state. Initially, he worked in a printing company for clothes and surfboards in Woodstock, then he became a freelance illustrator in the world of comics."As an artist with a graphic design background, I had a tendency to work in a very controlled and precise style. I was very accomplished as a realistic painter, technically my work was great, but my work was stagnant it lacked energy. In December 2010 I decided to approach my painting style differently. I changed the way I approached my painting and started by eliminating the use of small brushes. I often load my brushes with paint so that it would run when I apply enough pressure onto the canvas. I also force myself to simplify and lessen the number of strokes as to not get caught up in trying to create every little detail. My aim is to give the viewer just enough information and let the viewer fill in the detail. I aim to create energy and life in my work. Many of my first pieces done in the new, expressive style were done in a fairly neutral palette with subtle use of colour. Recently I have started using a lot more colour in my work"..

Artist Anny Maddock a South African contemporary pastel Painter , Anny Maddock was born in 1954. Her Passion with Painting began since was young , and her early works were so good that everyone around her properly regarded the youngster as a child Brilliant.

She went to Rhine Women's College in Stellenbosch after high school, and then to Cape Town Technical College to study visual arts. After graduating, she took makeup classes, then studied fashion design, and then worked in textile design for a few years.

Elbé van Rooyen was born in 1961 in Greytown, South Africa. She exhibited her work for the first time at the tender age of fourteen; even at this early stage her unique talent had already become evident. In the years that followed, her artistic abilities and range grew from strength to strength. After completing her studies at the Rand Afrikaans University and the University of Pretoria, she pursued a career as an executive in the corprorate world. This demanding life, however, could not separate her from her passion for painting. As her reputation as an artist grew and numerous commissions followed, she decided in 1999 to devote all time and effort entirely to her art.Incorporating a distinctive style, Elbé’s work captivates her audience with it’s delightful essence. Bursting with vitality and dream-like diffusion, these paintings offer a complete, self-contained world that belongs to the artist alone. With a strong sense of Victorian romance her art continues to surpass the bounds of impessionism and attains the greatness of classicism. Elbé draws from the real world only what she enjoys, depicting subjects such as children and flowers, and ultimately paying tribute to the beauty of femininity in colourful landscapes suffused with light. Her natural ability to portray timeless serenity and splendour on the canvas has led to widespread recognition with both local and overseas clients, resulting in an ever-growing demand for her work. She lives in the picturesque Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands where she works from her studio at home.
