Nigel Van Wieck's Paintings

Nigel Van Wieck is an American realism painter who was born in 1949 in Bexley, England. Nigel Van Wieck moved to America in 1979 and now lives and works in New York. He received his schooling at Hornsey College in London, which, along with the Royal Academy of Arts, is regarded as one of the most prestigious educational institutions in England and has acted as a stepping stone for many other renowned painters. Something special is sensed in all of Nigel Van Wieck's works - well, someone loves it, of course - but I'm used to distinguishing the phenomena of American painting as something near to the spirit and intriguing to me personally. I will offer a reservation: I am not a fan of pastel drawings, yet Nigel Van Wieck shines out in this series. Everything is sensed in the artist's warm, dark, yet sensuous and atmospheric works - summer, heat, and something that is difficult to see but can be touched. A excellent artist is almost certainly a magician.
