Artist Walid Ebeid's Paintings

Walid Ebeid a Cairo artist known for his dark and bleak depictions of Egyptian (and other) women's lives. The image's realistic expressionism provides particular weight to the timely social and gender concerns it addresses. Walid Ebeid was born in 1970 in Cairo but spent much of his youth and adolescence in Yemen. He began painting in oils when he was eight years old, and his father, an officer and Arabic instructor, encouraged him. Walid Ebeid graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Helwan, which is located near the ancient ruins of Memphis, in 1992. Walid Ebeid declined to work as an associate professor after graduation, preferring to remain an independent artist. "His realistic paintings question the conventions and traditions imposed by society on women and the underprivileged of all categories and socioeconomic strata," the critic says.

Early on, his forceful expressive style gained him a high reputation, and Walid Ebeid's work has been shown at various national and international exhibits. His study and experimenting progressed through numerous stages until arriving at the current level, which he refers to as "realism expressionism."
"I personally cannot grasp what causes my affection for ladies - perhaps women were the reason I became an artist," Walid Ebeid saying. "There is no such thing as a right-wing artist; all artists are left-wing. Is there a right-wing revolution you can remember? I would never be able to paint if I wasn't a revolutionary. I can't conceive an image without first having a concept. Even the rough draughts for my paintings should have their own significance. My art exists to benefit others. That is why people may treat my artwork as if it were their own. Sometimes people ask me to draw specific images, hoping that by doing so, I will be able to represent their emotions " Walid Ebeid

وليد عبيد (وليد عبيد ، 1970) ، فنان من القاهرة بصور مقلقة وكئيبة من حياة امرأة مصرية (وليس فقط). تضفي التعبيرية الواقعية للصورة قوة خاصة على القضايا الاجتماعية والجنسانية الموضعية التي تثيرها.
ولد وليد عبيد في القاهرة لكنه أمضى طفولته ونشأ في اليمن. بدأ الرسم بالزيوت عندما كان في الثامنة من عمره ، ودعمه والده ضابط ومدرس اللغة العربية.

في عام 1992 تخرج في كلية الفنون الجميلة بجامعة حلوان الواقعة بالقرب من أطلال ممفيس الأثرية. بعد التخرج رفض العمل أستاذاً مساعداً وفضل أن يكون فناناً مستقلاً.

يكتب الناقد "لوحاته الواقعية تكسر العديد من المحرمات الاجتماعية والأخلاقية وتتحدى العادات والتقاليد التي يفرضها المجتمع على المرأة والمظلوم من جميع الفئات والطبقات الاجتماعية".
أكسبه أسلوبه التعبيري القوي شهرة عالية في وقت مبكر ، وعرضت أعمال عبيد عدة مرات في المعارض الوطنية والدولية.

مرت أبحاثه وتجربته بعدة مراحل قبل أن يصل إلى المرحلة الحالية التي يسميها "التعبيرية الواقعية".
يقول عبيد: "أنا نفسي لا أستطيع أن أفهم السبب الذي أدى إلى تعاطفي مع النساء - ربما كانت النساء هي السبب في أنني أصبحت فنان".

"الفنان هو محام يدافع عن أي متهم بينما يلعب المجتمع دور القاضي. كقاعدة أنا متحيز ضد الظلم ومستعد للتحدث ضده".
يقول عبيد: "يصفني الناس بأنني نسوي ، لكنني لست كذلك. أنا منحاز بشكل عام للإنسانية والضعف والظلم. تظهر لوحاتي في الغالب النساء لأنهن يتعرضن للقمع والحرمان".
"من المستحيل مقابلة فنان يميني ، فكل الفنانين يساريون. الفن ثورة ، هل يمكنك أن تتذكر ثورة يمينية؟ إذا لم أكن شخصًا ثوريًا ، فلن أتمكن أبدًا من الرسم.

لا أستطيع تخيل صورة بدون فكرة. حتى الرسومات الأولية يجب أن يكون لرسوماتي معناها الخاص.
فني موجود للناس. هذا هو السبب في أن الناس يمكن أن يتعاملوا مع فني على أنه فني خاص بهم. في بعض الأحيان يطلبون مني تصوير بعض الصور ، معتقدين أنه بهذه الطريقة يمكنني التعبير عن مشاعرهم "، يقول الفنان.
