Haynes King was Born in the charming West Indian town of Barbados in 1931 . King's outstanding talent for art was cultivated by his supportive family from an early age. His early exposure to the brilliant colors and various faces of Barbados influenced his creative perspective. the artist moved to London in 1854, Haynes King's creative abilities were developed further when he relocated to London at the age of 23. He enrolled in the Royal Academy of Arts, where he was exposed to the masters' techniques and approaches. His studies at the school were crucial in honing his talents and establishing his own style of portraiture. After seven years of presenting his work at the Academy of Arts, King was elected to the Royal Society of British Artists in 1864. In 1855, he moved to Kentish, where he shared a residence with the artist Thomas Feid (1826-1900), who influenced his style and technique greatly. Later, he shared a home with John King (1855-1924), who was simply a nameake. King moved seven times in London before settling in 1896 at 103 Finchley Road. His genre scenes are often figures in house interiors. Between 1860 and 1904, King exhibited over thirty pieces at the Royal Academy. King's works may be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Bethnal Green Museum, and the art galleries of Leeds and Derby.

Hugues Merle (1823–1881) was a 19th-century well-known as a portrait and genre scene French painter , Hugues Merle was born at La Saune in 1822. Léon Cognier was his painting teacher. Second-degree awards were awarded. In 1866, the artist was appointed a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. Hugh Merle was Paul Durand-acquaintance Ruel's in the early 1860s. Durand-Ruel began purchasing Merle works in 1862 and introduced the artist to William-Adolphe Bouguereau. Merle was frequently compared to Bouguereau later in his career, and he "become a real rival to Bouguereau in narrative and treatment." Merle created many portraits of Paul Durand-Ruel, his wife, and their son John in the mid-1860s.

This is a famous painting by Jan Steen (1626-1679) from the period when he lived in Delft.

 For a long time this picture was called "The Burgomaster of Delft and his daughter", but after careful research, the names of the seated man and girl were found.

 It is currently assumed that the man seated is the wealthy grain merchant Adolf Kroeser and the girl is his daughter Katharina.

 Both of them are standing in front of their house, while a woman with a child is begging.

 This theme will be repeated by the artist a few years later, when Steen finds himself in serious debt, due to the losses of his De Roskam brewery, and Adolf Kroeser comes to his aid.

 The scene of the picture takes place next to the same brewery, and behind we see the old Delft church.

 A portrait of Adolf and Katharina Kreser can be seen at the Rijksmuseum in the Netherlands.  The year of its writing is 1655.

Edward Anton Portielje (1861 – 1949) was a Belgian realism and romantic painter born in Antwerp. Edward Anton Portielje's father was a great portrait painter the famous (Jan Frederik Peter Portielje). His Brother was the Genre Artist Gerard Jozef Portielje (1856-1929). At the School of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Edward studied under Charles Verlat, who also taught Van Gogh in the early 1880s. The fact that Edward Anton Portielje and Van Gogh were studying at the same time shows how different creative currents were throughout this time period. While many painters in both Belgium and France started exploring new pictorial methods, Edward Anton Portielje maintained a consistent style with traditional subjects.

The second name is “Woman at the toilet”, the main character of the picture is an aloof-cold lady in a blue shower jacket and wrinkled silk dress, alabaster of open shoulders and unnaturally raised breasts. An ugly straight line of the chest and abdomen. A tall awkward figure, ugly and shapeless. Thin tows over the forehead. Purple shoulder line. Red hands and white elbows. There are paints and blush on the face, but it is difficult to say something in condemnation of the face. The lady is opposed by a boy, a maid and a slender dog. All three are in natural motion. There are warm elements in the clothes: the boy has reddish hair, red on the hips, on the knee pom-poms, bows on the shoes; the maid has warm colors on her dress, hands and face. And the face itself is of pleasant, natural proportions and naturally lit. Next to her, the lady seems like a long doll, which she dresses up. The boy, on the contrary, is very slender: a loose top and wide sleeves, close-fitting pelvic clothing, tight pants. He has thick hair and a pleasant face profile: looking up, a beautiful line of nose - lips - chin. The artist contrasts it with the repulsive profile of the lady in the mirror. In warm, brown-muted tones, the artist also gives a thick carpet on the table.

The base of the candlestick tells what the lady's waist line should look like. Ugliness adorns itself unskillfully; falseness, artificiality only emphasizes its unnaturalness and makes a repulsive impression.

Gerard Terborch or Gerard ter Borch (1617-1681) is one of the main masters of Dutch genre painting of the golden age. He was the first to discover the private world of city dwellers, capturing their daily activities at home [source not specified 749 days]. His realistic aesthetic was developed by the Delft masters Pieter de Hooch and Jan Vermeer .
